If we ask you to provide any information by which you can be identified, either via this site or by emailing us, please be assured we will use it only in accordance with this privacy statement.

The GDPR & the DPA

The Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) has been replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) effective from May 25th 2018. One of Us endeavours to comply with both the DPA the GDPR at all times with its data collection, handling and processing. This policy is under regular review to ensure we remain compliant.

Contact & Communications with One of Us

Personal data (such as name, contact details and contents of the communication) will be provided in some form or other when an individual gets in touch with us with an application, question, complaint, comment or feedback. In these cases, you are in control of the personal data you’ve shared with us and we will use the data only for the purpose of responding to the communication or to comply with legal or regulatory obligations. We never share your personal information with anyone outside One of Us.

How will we use your data?

Any information you share with us will be treated in accordance with the GDPR. We will never ask you to provide data that isn’t necessary to the transaction. We use your data to make sure your experience and dealings with One of Us are smooth and efficient.

How is my personal data protected & who has access to it?

We have internal policies and controls in place to make sure your data is stored securely and is not lost, misused or accessed by anyone except One of Us’ staff in the performance of their duties.

How long is my data stored?

We’ll never hang on to your information for longer than necessary. We conduct regular reviews, so unless there’s a sound legal basis for keeping certain data, we delete it after 12 months, or at the point when it is no longer required, whichever is sooner.

Any files or media available on this site for download are provided at users’ own risk. We take all practical precautions to ensure only safe, virus-free downloads are available, but users are recommended to use their own third-party anti-virus software as well.

Visitors to our offices

If you’re visiting our offices and use our Wi-Fi networks, we may collect data about your device, how much data you use, which websites & apps you access, as well as your usage by time, frequency and location.

We require visitors to our office to sign in. These records fulfil our duty to safety within our offices and are kept for a maximum of 1 year. They are used only in circumstances requiring investigations.

We hope you’ll never need to, but if you do want to complain about One of Us’ use of personal data, please send an email with details of your complaint to the address, number or email shown above. We will look into and respond to any complaints we receive.
