The Tree of Life wins the Palme d'Or at the 64th Cannes Film Festival.

We are glad that we can finally talk about our role in the making of Terrence Malick’s The Tree Of Life. Our work forms a part of the sequence which portrays the entire history of life on our planet. We were addressing the early development of cellular life. The sequence was developed over twelve months, and required us to work in what were to us innovative and exciting ways. We listened to and discussed a variety of pieces of music, we looked at a lot of microscopic reference, we discussed the science of our sequence with a preeminent cellular biologist, we looked at artistic reference, and we discussed the significance and philosophical interpretation of the processes we were representing, and how they might relate to the modern day story which is the main thread of the film. It’s exciting to have been involved with a project which was subjected to such intellectual and creative rigour, and we are proud to have played our part. You can see one of our shots on the film’s website:

Untitled: A physical manifestation of “Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space”

One Of Us has branched out into the world of installations. We were very excited to be involved in the realisation of Untitled: A physical manifestation of “Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space” - a collaboration between Jonathan Glazer and Jason Spaceman (Spiritualized) which debuted at the Coachella Festival last month. We were involved from the inception of this project, developing sound and lighting design, and working alongside architectural innovators Undisclosable. It’s an exciting new direction for us - one we aim to follow up in the near future.

If you would like to see/hear more about the project, including words of wisdom from Tom, Dominic and Louis, then please follow this link:
